Gettysburg, PA, April 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- OPEN MINDS announced Stacy DiStefano as the latest addition to its national consulting practice and market intelligence firm headquartered in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The hiring of Ms. DiStefano brings OPEN MINDS’ intensive, six month search for its first Chief Operating Officer to a close.

OPEN MINDS has been the North Star guiding industry leaders and top human service executives for decades,” said Ms. DiStefano. “Having the opportunity to join this talented team after years of relying on the news briefing and attending institutes, is an exciting and unique professional opportunity. I’m eager to dive in and I’m honored to be a part of the OPEN MINDS organization.”

Formerly the Vice President of Innovation at Resources for Human Development (RHD), Philadelphia’s $260 million dollar national non-profit human service organization operating 170 programs across 15 states, Ms. DiStefano will report directly to Chief Executive Officer, Monica E. Oss, and oversee OPEN MINDS Strategic Advisory Services.

“We’re thrilled that Stacy is joining our team. Her experience with RHD- in strategy, in marketing, in business development, in managing new service line development and launches, in proposal and grant writing, and more- will be a great asset to our team and our clients,” said Monica E. Oss, OPEN MINDS Chief Executive Officer.

Stacy DiStefano brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the health and human services industry to OPEN MINDS. During her time at RHD, Ms. DiStefano led the organization’s innovation, strategy, and national business development efforts aimed at broadening service areas, diversifying funding sources, engaging and maintaining political relationships, as well as designing programs to enhance systems of care. Throughout her tenure at RHD, Ms DiStefano lead teams of various sizes from small core groups to large national teams with matrix reporting, bringing several new states and millions of dollars of new revenue into the organization. Driving development from scouting market intelligence to contracting, program implantation and eventual expansion, Ms DiStefano is recognized as a seasoned human services executive and international speaker. In 2018, the Philadelphia Social Innovation Journal nominated Ms. DiStefano for their “Behavioral Health Innovator” award.

Previously, Ms. DiStefano served as the Director of National Business Development and Social Innovation, as well as the New Jersey Supportive Housing Director. Prior to her service at Resources For Human Development, Ms. DiStefano was a lead therapist at the Center For Behavioral Health in New Jersey, practicing individual, child, family, and couples-solution focused counseling in a managed care setting, while also mentoring and clinically training Master’s interns. Starting her career in Arizona, Ms. DiStefano gained valuable experience in community behavioral health at EMPACT-Suicide Prevention Center, now La Frontera, where she managed the Service Utilization Department while regularly filing shifts on the crisis response team.
